The German-Baltic Chamber of Commerce (AHK), Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists (LPK) and the Engineering Industries Association of Lithuania (LINPRA) would like to thank all of our almost 400 participants of the 2nd Industry 4.0 Conference, held on May 11, 2017. YVES PAINDAVEINE ![]() Yves Paindaveine has been working in the policy
fields to foster the uptake of digital technologies since the Digital
Agenda for Europe and is now driving the Digitising European Industry
initiative. A microelectronics and computer science engineer by
education. He joined the European Commission as a scientific officer for
R&I projects dealing with health informatics, later with network
security and dependability. Prior to this, he led, among others,
distributed systems and security projects at the Open Software
Foundation Research Institute. |

2012. Prior to this he held the positions of CEO of the Austrian

MR. DR. CARSTEN POLENZ![]() www.sap.com PRESENTATION FILES Dr. Carsten Polenz is
responsible for the external, political activities of SAP within the areas of
Industrie 4.0, Internet of Things and Digitization of Industry, supporting
directly the Executive Board Member Bernd Leukert. In this role, he works
closely with the German Ministries for Economics (BMWi) and Research (BMBF) to
steer the Plattform Industrie 4.0 as well as with the DG Connect of the EU and
other national initiatives for Digitization around Europe, e.g. Industrie du
Futur.
Dr. Carsten Polenz works at SAP since 1999 and
has held several executive positions in the areas of Corporate Strategy,
Product Development, Design and Service and Support. Besides this he was
program lead for a variety of strategic projects (e.g. acquisitions) reporting
directly to the Executive Board of SAP. Before working at SAP, he was
researcher at the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Energy and Resources,
working in the area of sustainable energy consumption. |
ADRIAN HARRIS![]() www.orgalime.org Before joining
Orgalime in 1996, Adrian Harris worked for 20 years for a number of general
contractors for the construction of complete plants, essentially in the
agro-industrial and beverage area. Orgalime is a member of the Alliance for a
Competitive European Industry (ACEI), of which Adrian Harris was Chairman
(2012-2013) and at present he is a Board member of the Federation of European
and International Associations established in Belgium (FAIB).

Association, speaks for 40 trade federations representing the mechanical,
electrical, electronic, metalworking & metal articles industries of 23
European countries. The industry employs some 10.9 million people in the EU and
in 2015 accounted for more than €1,900 billion of annual output. The industry accounts
for over a quarter of manufacturing output and a third of the manufactured
exports of the European Union.

MERETE NØRBY![]() www.made.dk Merete Nørby is responsible for the international activities at MADE and presently primary involved in EUREKA SMART cluster, IMPACT GROWTH and DIGITAL HUB initiation. She played a key role in the Advanced Manufacturing KIC proposal (2016) and is after the relaunch active in this field again. Doctor Nørby has a deep knowledge of manufacturing optimization incl. technology transfer, Lean methods, ambidextrous approaches and SCM in global environment. Prior she worked at Technical University of Denmark with focus on innovation activities and setting up projects between researchers and SMEs. She has also as Head of Center for Production at DTI been initiating and coordinating several manufacturing projects and international study missions incl. supply chain and risk management themes. Merete Nørby has a PhD in Organization from Tsukuba University, Japan and Copenhagen Business School. |
PAULIUS VERTELKA![]() www.infobalt.lt Mr. Vertelka is a Managing Director at INFOBALT. Founded in 1994, INFOBALT is a locally and internationally recognized representative of Lithuanian ICT industry. Its mission is to promote the use of Information and Communication Technologies to benefit society, businesses and public sector. Previously he was the Head of Governmental Program JPP “Kurk Lietuvai” and worked as an expert on improving investment climate at "Invest Lithuania". Paulius has graduated high school in the U.S. and later acquired a double major degree (B.A.) in Economics and Political Science at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During his student years, Paulius co-founded the Lithuanian Student Association of North America and presided over it until his graduation. Also, for over two years, Paulius was Managing director at the Lithuanian American Council – an organization with the task of advocating the interests of the Lithuanian-American community to the United States government. |
